Join us for a gentle, hands-on workshop designed especially for seniors to explore the traditional Persian art of
Ghalamkari
— a centuries-old woodblock printing technique from Isfahan, Iran.

, this class will guide participants through both the
cultural history
and
creative techniques
of this beautiful art form. Seniors will learn how to carve their own woodblocks using simple, easy-to-handle tools, then use them to print on fabric or paper with vibrant, non-toxic inks.
What You’ll Experience:

Step-by-step guidance on how to carve and print your own Persian-inspired designs

All Materials Provided:
Wooden blocks + carving tools (senior-friendly)
Paper & fabric for printing
Non-toxic textile inks in a variety of colors

About the Instructor:
Sasha Furlan
, an MFA-trained painter and member of the Persian Place team, brings her deep love for Persian art and years of experience teaching to this workshop. Her gentle, supportive teaching style makes art-making fun, accessible, and empowering for seniors of all skill levels.
